What you need for a great day on the slopes...

  • Ski jacket - make sure it's waterproof and breathable.
  • Salopettes - again, make sure they're waterproof and breathable!
  • Ski gloves or mittens - ideally these should be waterproof, particularly if you are a beginner and expect to fall over lots!
  • Helmet - you can rent these in the resort when you rent your skis or snowboard.
  • Glove liners & hand warmers – for very cold weather or individuals with bad circulation!
  • Scarf or neck warmer - merino wool is the warmest!
  • Ski socks - ideally merino wool - they'll keep your toes warm! 
  • Goggles – you can't rent these, so it's best to buy a pair before travelling to the mountains.
  • Thermal base layers - ideally in merino wool or manmade fabric.
  • Fleeces or merino/down mid-layers.
  • Sun cream - no one wants a red nose!
  • Snacks - mini mars bars are great!
  • Sunglasses - a must for lunchtime and Aprés ski on a sunny day!
  • Shovel, probe and transceiver - for those adventuring off-piste.
