Hi, my name is Andrea an***snowboard instructor in the Vialattea area. I mainly teach in Sestriere but I am available to travel to all the locations of this magnificent resort, by agreeing it in advance.
If you are a neophyte, a beginner or an avid freerider, I could be for you.
I love fresh snow and the tranquility of pristine landscapes, away from the beaten tracks and chaos. This is why I could help you even if you want to approach the world of splitboard for the first time or discover some more hidden itineraries.
Also, I want to let you in on a secret: Did you know that snowboarding is nothing more than the set of 4 fundamental movements which, combined in the correct way, can really make your riding take a leap in quality?
First of all because you will immediately become more beautiful and likeable; then because we have warm and very comfortable boots. You will understand what I mean. We snowboarders are envied because when we're tired we can even sit down. And even when we fall we can always tell that we were just resting. We have our hands free to take selfies to put on instagram and we don't lose the wands from the chairlift.
Then because we are the only ones to move laterally. Suffice it to say that legend has it that the vast majority of skiers who try their hand at snowboarding almost never put their skis back on. Maybe because sliding sideways is a truly unique sensation that, once you try it, you won't be able to do without it.
And we can also choose which foot to get off with.
Another good thing about snowboarding, in my opinion, is that once you get the hang of it and are able to brake and move safely, you can go from the nursery slope to an easy slope. A first mastery of the table generally already has from the first hours of lessons.
At the end of the day, if you turn a snowboard upside down, it becomes a wonderful counter on which to enjoy an excellent aperitif.
You see? You have a lot of good reasons to learn to snowboard!!!
I'd be lying to you if I told you there aren't any.
Unfortunately, like all things, it also has its drawbacks. Here are some:
-Initially, when you are not familiar with speed yet, you may hate flat sections.
- you may have some difficulty getting up when you fall
-If you stop or if you fall into fresh snow and maybe even flat.
They are just small obstacles in this wonderful sport that can be overcome quite quickly with a little practice.
Safety: In addition to the helmet, I highly recommend wrist and buttock protectors. Don't forget your sunscreen, lip cream and glasses/goggles.
Second lesson with Andrea. Revisiting basics and stretching me on new stuff, I made big improvements. And we found a bit of Pow. He has great skills 👍🏂, recommend
Great lesson, Andrea was positive, friendly, good at analysing and suggesting improvements to my rusty boarding. V experienced. Recommended, have booked again!
You can arrange the meeting point with your chosen instructor by using the Maison Sport messaging system. We recommend agreeing this before you book your lessons, but it can always be arranged at a later date. The instructor should be able to suggest somewhere that is convenient for you both.
Any instructor that has a blue ‘verified’ tick icon on their profile has had their qualifications vetted and verified by the Maison Sport team, the level of qualification required to have a verified account on Maison Sport varies slightly by country. As follows: France – all verified instructors must carry a ‘Carte Professionelle’ licence, the qualification requirements for this licence are very high. The licence is administered by the French Government (to attain a Carte Professionelle most instructors will have studied for an average of 5 years+ to attain the correct level of qualification). Aside from requiring the instructor to have the highest level of qualification, which includes numerous teaching and technical performance diplomas in skiing or snowboarding, European mountain safety courses and the Euro speed test, the instructors are also required to have a criminal record check and a first aid certificate. Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Spain – all verified instructors must carry a minimum level of qualification which must be at the ISIA card level or above. Instructors working independently must provide documentation to show they meet the local regulatory requirements to do so and instructors that are working for a ski school must provide details of the school they work for.
Unless otherwise agreed with the instructor no more than 6 people can take part in a lesson, each instructor will have their own policy for this, so it is best to just double check with them by sending a message. Most instructors won't charge extra if there is more than 1 person taking part in the lesson, but always best to check with them before booking.s
If you are on a desktop computer or laptop, you will see a box on the right hand side of the screen which contains various lesson options and pricing, simply select the lessons you would like and then click 'Book now', then follow the instructions to make payment.
