As I have been living in Zermatt for ten years when it comes to helping my clients have a well rounded experience I know the resort like the back of my hand. While your time on the slopes is my focus, I can also help you to design the perfect holiday off the snow. From chalet and restaurant bookings to organising childcare or activities for non-skiers I can ensure you get the most out of your stay in Zermatt.

We absolutely loved our lesson with Phoebe and couldn't have asked for a better instructor and guide, especially as beginners! She was friendly, engaging, attentive and so knowledgeable about the region and ski technique. She made us feel so safe and confident on the slopes, giving us helpful tips, providing lots of guidance and reassurance and praising our progress. We enjoyed our time with her on the Swiss side so much that we've re-booked a lesson with her this week on the Italian slopes. We couldn't recommend Phoebe enough, thanks again for a perfect day and for skills we'll carry with us forever!

Phoebe is awesome!! I had 4 full days with her and had the best time I have ever had skiing, I hadn’t skied for 2 years and after the first day I felt confident again and kept getting better from them on thanks to Phoebe! She’s so much fun to ski with and is always very encouraging. So much so that on the first day I did the “wall of death” and over the 4 days I did all the blacks runs in Zermatt ( I used to dread black runs but I wanted to do more!) which I wouldnt have done before but I feel a lot more confident now because of how great Phoebe is, and she always believed in me which really boosted my confidence !!!On top of that she’s funny, great company and loves a good laugh!I left desperate to ski again and still am! So we’ve booked Phoebe again to glacier ski in summer! If you need an instructor in Zermatt, book Phoebe you won’t regret it!! From Phoebe 14 years old.

Pheobe was great. She provided two three hour lessons for our two girls aged 15 and 10. Both girls made really solid progress over the two days and couldn’t have been more complimentary about the standard of instruction they received. Would highly recommend Pheobe and will certainly be re-booking when we are next in Zermatt. Thanks again!

I chose Phoebe because of her strong reviews and was not disappointed. I am a confident/fast intermediate who can ski anything on piste, but I used to fall apart as soon as I went off piste. I spent three mornings with Phoebe focusing on deep snow, off piste, and also my general on-piste technique. I am now a much better skier than before and her advice was invaluable. Phoebe struck a good balance of giving advice, letting me ski ahead, letting me follow her, and also videoing some of my runs so I really got a lot of input and benefit. We also had fun, seeing most of the Zermatt area and getting the benefit of Phoebe's great knowledge about the area. Beyond the excellent tuition, Phoebe is a pleasure to spend time with and I highly recommend her to anyone, whatever their level of skiing. She is qualified to a very high level so can do the extreme stuff if you want or cover the basics.

Phoebe G is a wonderful teacher. She saved my wife's ski career as my wife is a bag of nerves and needed the right encouragement and coaxing. My son is a talented skier and learned an awful lot from Phoebe. I improved more with Phoebe's tuition than I had anywhere before. I would recommend her highly. Not all ski lessons or teachers are the same. Phoebe was great at seeing what we needed and was very adaptable. Many teachers aren't like that but she was top class. We actually hoped she would set up her own school with like minded teachers, she was that good for us. Would highly recommend Phoebe

I’ve had the pleasure of skiing with Phoebe over four ski seasons, and I have never had another instructor since finding her. Having had many instructors over the years I can say that she is quite exceptional. All the things I think should come as standard - reliability, punctuality and commitment - she has as a given. More importantly Phoebe is so good at understanding a) what you want to achieve b) the psychology behind what might be holding you back. I was an adult beginner and lacked in confidence despite several weeks of private lessons before I met Phoebe. I had resigned myself to never going beyond the simplest red runs, avoiding poor visibility days and only skiing runs I already knew. Within three mornings of skiing with Phoebe I felt comfortable enough to ski with friends with much more experience than me. And in my next week’s lessons with Phoebe I skied my first black run - something I had never even thought I would want to do let alone be capable of. Phoebe is really great at correcting the basics, building upon those (speed, stance etc), and helping you nail things like parallel turns, but all while allowing you to feel like you are on holiday. She quickly realised that I’d spent hours repeating the same run with previous instructors and, once checking my ability, allowed me the joy of actually gaining mileage and exploring the resort. This did so much to boost my confidence. Critically for me, Phoebe has a wonderful sense of how far to push you to gain confidence - she always read me well and assessed my tiredness level, mood and appetite on each day of my holiday, while continually giving me a sense of achievement that made me want to do more. Phoebe picked up so much from small things like the tension in my shoulders, and quickly pinpointed which elements of the sport I found mentally challenging and gave me the tool kit to deal with those elements with confidence. I should also add that she is also great company and knows all the best pit stops! It is more like skiing with a wonderfully patient and considerate friend than paying for lessons. My husband - who has skied all his life - has been super impressed with what Phoebe has done for my skills and confidence. Enough so that he will finally ski with me! I will definitely ski with Phoebe again (I actually choose her over my friends/husband now) and can’t wait to introduce her to my son and get him on the slopes too.

FAQs
Where is the meeting point?

You can arrange the meeting point with your chosen instructor by using the Maison Sport messaging system. We recommend agreeing this before you book your lessons, but it can always be arranged at a later date. The instructor should be able to suggest somewhere that is convenient for you both.

What qualifications do the instructors have?

Any instructor that has a blue ‘verified’ tick icon on their profile has had their qualifications vetted and verified by the Maison Sport team, the level of qualification required to have a verified account on Maison Sport varies slightly by country. As follows: France – all verified instructors must carry a ‘Carte Professionelle’ licence, the qualification requirements for this licence are very high. The licence is administered by the French Government (to attain a Carte Professionelle most instructors will have studied for an average of 5 years+ to attain the correct level of qualification). Aside from requiring the instructor to have the highest level of qualification, which includes numerous teaching and technical performance diplomas in skiing or snowboarding, European mountain safety courses and the Euro speed test, the instructors are also required to have a criminal record check and a first aid certificate. Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Spain – all verified instructors must carry a minimum level of qualification which must be at the ISIA card level or above. Instructors working independently must provide documentation to show they meet the local regulatory requirements to do so and instructors that are working for a ski school must provide details of the school they work for.

How many people can take part in the lesson?

Unless otherwise agreed with the instructor no more than 6 people can take part in a lesson, each instructor will have their own policy for this, so it is best to just double check with them by sending a message. Most instructors won't charge extra if there is more than 1 person taking part in the lesson, but always best to check with them before booking.s

How do I book?

If you are on a desktop computer or laptop, you will see a box on the right hand side of the screen which contains various lesson options and pricing, simply select the lessons you would like and then click 'Book now', then follow the instructions to make payment. If you require further help visit the 'How to book' page - https://maisonsport.com/en/how-to-book
