What Food is Included in a Catered Ski Chalet?

Most catered chalets work on the classic ‘chalet board’ concept, which is essentially half-board catering. You will enjoy a hearty breakfast before you hit the slopes and dinner will be prepared for you in the comfort of your accommodation in the evening. There will also usually be the added extra of a delicious cake waiting for you each afternoon when you return from skiing and wine is generally included with your dinner. Will Dietary Requirements Be Catered For?

Chalet operators will be able to accommodate most common dietary requirements, for example vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan requests. Due to the limited availability and price of dietary-specific products and the additional time required to prepare separate dishes, small surcharges may sometimes apply. Be sure to discuss your specific dietary requirements prior to booking to ensure they can be accommodated.

Catered ski chalets don’t have to break the bank! Chalet operators vary greatly in price, from those who provide tasty home-style cooking at affordable prices, all the way up to those offering private chefs and top-end Michelin quality food, so there’s something out there to suit most budgets. Prices can also vary depending on the standard and style of accommodation, location, proximity to the slopes and facilities available (for example hot tubs and saunas).

Are Tips Included in the Price of a Catered Ski Chalet?

Tips are generally not included in the price of a catered ski chalet and are at your discretion. It is customary to tip the chalet staff in the local currency at the end of your stay if you are pleased with the service provided.
