Brixen Resort Overview

The Trametsch, at 9km, is the longest run in the region, and provides a thrilling descent of over 1,400m vertical. For beginners, the gentle, wide slopes at Skihütte are an excellent place to start.

Intermediate skiers are well catered for, with a variety of red runs spread across the Plose area. The Piculin run, with its 60% gradient, offers a daring challenge for more advanced skiers. Freeride enthusiasts will find a wealth of off-piste opportunities, particularly on the Gabler mountain.

Brixen is also known for its expansive snow park, the Plose Funpark, where freestyle skiers and snowboarders can test out their tricks.

Is Brixen Family-friendly?

Brixen is an extremely family-friendly ski resort, with a range of ski-in-ski-out accommodation options and a pedestrian-friendly centre. The resort offers a variety of amenities for children, such as dedicated children’s ski areas, a toboggan run and the Funbob summer toboggan run. Children under the age of eight can ski for free when accompanied by an adult.

Après-Ski Scene in Brixen

Brixen offers a vibrant après-ski scene, with numerous bars and pubs where you can unwind after a day on the slopes. The Igloo Bar at Plose is a unique spot to enjoy a drink, offering stunning views of the Dolomites. For a lively night out, the Club Max is a popular choice, while the Vinoteque Vitis serves up a selection of fine wines.

Dining in Brixen

Brixen offers a diverse culinary scene, with a number of excellent restaurants both on the mountain and in the resort. On the mountain, the Trametschhütte serves up hearty South Tyrolean dishes, while the Rossalm offers a gourmet dining experience. In the resort, the Finsterwirt serves traditional South Tyrolean fare, while the Elephant offers a Michelin-starred dining experience.

How to Get to Brixen

The closest airports to Brixen are Innsbruck (85km, 1h 30m), Verona (190km, 2h) and Munich (275km, 3h). Transfer times are approximate and can vary based on road conditions. If you’re travelling by train, the Brixen station is a hub for national and international connections.
