Looking Back at Our Winter Season 2022/23

28 April, 2023 3 min read

Another season is coming to a close, and we are thrilled to report that it has been our biggest season yet! With travel restrictions now firmly in the past, this year saw so many of you dust off your skis and head out to the mountains. It has been incredible to hear all the positive feedback from the lessons you have taken with instructors on Maison Sport. For the most part, the ski season in Europe is officially over, so we are giving you a sneak peek into how this year’s ski season has gone for Maison Sport.

It has been the busiest season yet for the instructors on Maison Sport, with over 50,000 hours of lessons delivered all across Europe by over 530 independent instructors. Of the 72% of lessons that were reviewed, an incredible 90% of lessons taken with Maison Sport received a 5-star rating. We are thrilled to see how many satisfied customers there have been this year, and we are dedicated to keeping this going year on year. Our busiest instructor this season has been the wonderful Anja M., based in Morzine, who has clocked up just shy of 100 lessons this year with Maison Sport and now has over 88 customer reviews from many delighted clients. Congratulations, Anja!

Now, let’s talk about the most popular ski resorts. While Maison Sport instructors are present across over 400 resorts, there are some clear favorites when it comes to where you are booking your lessons. French resorts proved again to be the most popular, with our top 5 resorts all being in France. For the second year running, in first place for the highest number of lessons booked, is Chamonix. Chamonix has yet again proven to be a popular choice for reliable snow, spectacular scenery, and a variety of runs that cater to all levels. Here is our top 5:

  1. Chamonix
  2. Morzine
  3. Val D’Isère
  4. Courchevel
  5. Val Thorens

Finally, let’s look at the disciplines of choice. We are thrilled that Maison Sport now offers 11 different disciplines, including skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, telemark, cross-country skiing, off-piste skiing, off-piste snowboarding, sit-ski, visually impaired skiing, adaptive snowboarding, and three-track skiing. As predicted, the most popular discipline booked was skiing; however, it is fantastic to see a significant increase in the number of lessons booked in other disciplines, including 9% of lessons booked in snowboarding and 2% in off-piste disciplines.

These are just a few of our highlights from the Winter Season 22/23 here at Maison Sport. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of making this happen, both instructors and customers. Thank you for helping Maison Sport on this amazing journey. Our team will be working hard over the summer months to make improvements to our platform, and we will keep you updated via our newsletter with any exciting news!
