Garmisch-Partenkirchen also has the Zugspitze glacier, guaranteeing skiing all year round, and offering breathtaking views over the Bavarian Alps.

With its comprehensive lift system and routes leading to the neighbouring resort of Grainau, there is an abundance of terrain to explore. The ski area in Garmisch-Partenkirchen comprises three main areas; Hausberg, Kreuzeck, and Alpspitze, all directly accessible from the town centre. The ski area consists of 40 runs, with 12% green, 35% blue, 40% red and 13% black.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen has a well-deserved reputation as a top resort for advanced skiers. With 13% of its runs being black, there is a variety of challenging terrain to explore. The most renowned run is the Kandahar-Abfahrt, a World Cup downhill course that is considered one of the most demanding in the world. For an even more challenging experience, head to the Zugspitze area. The long, ungroomed descents will undoubtedly get your heart racing!

Off-piste Skiing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
