Rogla Resort Overview

Perched at 1,517m, with the topmost ski lift reaching 1,517m, the Rogla resort is located high above the neighbouring town of Zreče, Slovenia. The resort provides access to the diverse, skiable terrain of the Pohorje Mountain Range.

Established in the 1970s, the picturesque, car-free resort boasts charming, wooden, ski-in-ski-out style accommodation. The high-altitude resort is renowned for its reliable snowfall and typically maintains a thick blanket of snow at the village level throughout most of the ski season, usually running from December to March.

Skiing in Rogla

Rogla offers fantastic skiing for all skill levels. The resort provides a beginner’s ski pass, allowing newcomers to gain confidence on gentle terrain via 5 lifts, and a Rogla-only ski pass, which provides access to the 13 lifts in Rogla and over 13km of ski slopes.

There are plenty of wide, gentle slopes for beginners to learn on in Rogla, including two nursery slopes in the centre of the resort. For intermediate skiers, Rogla offers a playground of opportunities, with numerous red runs to explore. We recommend trying out the runs accessible from the Košuta and Planja ski lifts.

Rogla also boasts challenging terrain for advanced skiers. The Jurgovo area of Rogla offers steep, long black runs that will test your skills. And if the 13km of pisted terrain isn’t enough, there are several off-piste skiing opportunities to discover around Jurgovo and Mašinžaga.

Is Rogla Family-friendly?

Rogla is an excellent resort for families and has cultivated a reputation as a standout family ski resort. The car-free resort has a safe, pedestrianised centre and a range of ski-in-ski-out accommodation to choose from, including many self-catered options. The resort caters to skiers of all abilities and offers a variety of family-friendly amenities, such as child-friendly restaurants, a snow park and a sledding area.

Après-Ski Scene in Rogla

Rogla has a vibrant centre with numerous shops, bars, restaurants and cafes to enjoy. The après ski scene in Rogla may be smaller than some of the larger resorts, but it certainly doesn’t lack charm or atmosphere. With several bars to choose from and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout the evening.

Dining in Rogla

Rogla is home to a selection of excellent eateries, both on and off the slopes. In the resort, Koča na Pesku offers traditional Slovenian cuisine, while Planja Restaurant serves up gourmet dishes in a cosy setting. For lunch with a view, there are several mountain restaurants that can be reached both on skis and on foot, including Tisa on the Mašinžaga slopes and Jurgovo Cottage at the bottom of the Jurgovo ski lift.
