I’m Toby and, I’d like to tell you a bit more about me, what drives me and how I work. Hopefully, this will give you an insight to my lifelong love of skiing and my dedication to helping customers achieve their personal goals.
I grew up in a multilingual family with British and Austrian nationality and therefore speak fluent English and German. My hometown is Seefeld in Tyrol, where I started skiing at the age of 3 on my local mountain. In my free time, I still enjoy skiing in Seefeld, one of the best-kept secret spots for freeriding (but remember: “It’s a secret, so don’t tell anyone”).
I have been working in the Austrian ski industry since my early teens and have gained considerable experience in coaching and training many nationalities at all levels in several renowned Austrian ski resorts.
If you ask me what kind of skiing I like best, my answer is: “Steep and challenging freeriding off-piste; the bigger the challenge, the better it gets. The greater the challenge, the better. Get out of your comfort zone and feel the rush. But if you ask me what you enjoy most about skiing, my answer is, “I love meeting new people and teaching them, It’s a real privilege to help people have fun on the mountain.”

I offer an exciting approach towards skiing and PERSONAL/PRIVATE COACHING ONE 2 ONE OR SMALL GROUP COACHING, catering for a wide spectrum of abilities and standards from the intermediate (parallel red runs confidently) to advanced/expert skiers and Instructors.
It’s the intermediate, advanced, expert skiers who will benefit the most, early low level skiers and beginners are not what I cater for. Especially those who want to improve their all mountain skills, freeriding and technical ability and gain more confidence on a whole mountain.
Our goal is to develop your understanding of the sport with my approach to learning and using the whole mountain to give you an exciting approach to skiing, personal/private coaching, small groups and ski camps and a wide range of skills and standards. Our goal is to encourage you on how to become more effective and adaptable to all types of terrain and snow all over the mountain and in all conditions. We use the mountain to give you the right activities/guiding and use the appropriate terrain to work together to achieve the best and most effective results for you as a skier. He who is in control is out of control and he who is out of control is in control.
My success in the world of skiing is largely based on the pursuit of excellence, helping skiers, regardless of their level or standard, develop their technical skills by understanding what they really need as opposed to what they think they want. In particular, this includes understanding your personal goals and individual learning styles, and focusing on the outcome/success rather than obstacles/difficulties.
We work in small groups or individually, with personal coaching, goal setting and consistent feedback to develop and improve your understanding, to give you skills and ideas that you can use to enjoy the sport for yourself; with confidence you will approach your personal goals of skiing a steep powder run or challenging yourself in ways you can only dream of.

If you already met many instructors and still looking for someone to help you improve your ski, try Toby. What made my lesson different is his ability to sequence different techniques to correct my flaws. At first it seems like those drills are in random, but at a look back I just know they are not. He will listen to your reflection carefully and try to build what is right for you. He is friendly and funny. I learn a lot after two half-day lessons. His experience may help you improve like mine. Highly recommended

You can arrange the meeting point with your chosen instructor by using the Maison Sport messaging system. We recommend agreeing this before you book your lessons, but it can always be arranged at a later date. The instructor should be able to suggest somewhere that is convenient for you both.
Any instructor that has a blue ‘verified’ tick icon on their profile has had their qualifications vetted and verified by the Maison Sport team, the level of qualification required to have a verified account on Maison Sport varies slightly by country. As follows: France – all verified instructors must carry a ‘Carte Professionelle’ licence, the qualification requirements for this licence are very high. The licence is administered by the French Government (to attain a Carte Professionelle most instructors will have studied for an average of 5 years+ to attain the correct level of qualification). Aside from requiring the instructor to have the highest level of qualification, which includes numerous teaching and technical performance diplomas in skiing or snowboarding, European mountain safety courses and the Euro speed test, the instructors are also required to have a criminal record check and a first aid certificate. Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Spain – all verified instructors must carry a minimum level of qualification which must be at the ISIA card level or above. Instructors working independently must provide documentation to show they meet the local regulatory requirements to do so and instructors that are working for a ski school must provide details of the school they work for.
Unless otherwise agreed with the instructor no more than 6 people can take part in a lesson, each instructor will have their own policy for this, so it is best to just double check with them by sending a message. Most instructors won't charge extra if there is more than 1 person taking part in the lesson, but always best to check with them before booking.s
If you are on a desktop computer or laptop, you will see a box on the right hand side of the screen which contains various lesson options and pricing, simply select the lessons you would like and then click 'Book now', then follow the instructions to make payment.
