How to book
How many Ski touring lessons should I book in Hahnenklee?
Beginners
Private lessons are personalised to your needs, so you will improve your technique rapidly, compared to a ski school group lesson. If you have an unlimited budget and are really looking to make the most of your time on the mountain, we recommend booking an instructor all day for the full week you're on holiday. For complete beginners the most common lesson package is to book 2 to 3 hours of lessons each day - remember you can share the lessons with friends or family to bring the cost down.
Intermediates
Whilst booking lessons for the full week is our recommendation, you could also split your lessons througout the week. Booking lessons for your first and second day in resort and then booking another one slightly later in the week will ensure your technique keeps progressing.
Experts
Even expert skiers will greatly benefit from taking some private lessons, you can book an instructor to work on a specific aspect of your technique, such as improving your technique on steep slopes or if you simply want a guide to show you where to find the best snow conditions, your instructor will be able to help! A handy tip - if you're only after one lesson, try booking in the afternoon as it's often cheaper!
What equipment is required for Ski touring lessons?
You need specific equipment for ski touring, which you will need to rent yourself and take to the lesson. Depending on the type of skis you rent, you may be able to use your own ski boots but if you choose a full touring ski with pin bindings, you will need specific ski boots. You will also need skins, which attach to the bottom of the touring skis, which provide traction for when you're walking uphill. If you are venturing in to the back country, you will also need an avalanche pack, which will contain a shovel, transceiver and probe. As you'll be walking uphill for a large part of the lesson, you will also want to wear multiple layers which you can remove whilst hiking and put back on for the descent. If you're unsure of what you need or need a suggestion on where to rent the equipment, you can simply message the instructor who will be able to advise you.
