Crans Montana is a very popular resort with its old town charm, luxury shops, and gourmet dining with plenty of accommodation options. Located in the Swiss Valais region, it boasts over 140km of varied ski slopes. Crans Montana is also very popular with non-skiers and offers a wide range of other winter activities such as tobogganing, snowshoeing, ice-skating, curling and walking.

Crans Montana is well suited to beginners and there are numerous gentle green and blue slopes, notably in the Merbé and Arnouva areas. Beginners can comfortably build their skills here, and when the lower slopes have less snow, the higher-altitude areas, such as Petit Mont Bonvin have some easy blue runs.

Intermediate skiers are in for a treat in Crans Montana. The resort, with its vast stretches of red pistes, like those around Les Violettes and the Bellalui area, offers ample opportunities for skiers to challenge and improve their skills. With the efficient and modern lift system, intermediates can easily explore the breadth of Crans and Montana.

While Crans Montana might be known for its sun and scenery more than its extreme slopes, expert skiers will not be disappointed. The challenging terrain around the Piste Nationale and the off-piste areas near the Bellalui summit attracts the more adventurous skiers. Powderhounds can also enjoy some exhilarating off-piste runs after significant snowfall, in particular through some of the forests lower down.

Crans Montana is generally open from early December till mid-April. Despite the low altitude, the resort's tree-lined runs can retain snow well, even in warmer conditions. Late January or early March provides a good balance of great snow conditions and fewer crowds.

The instructors are also required to have a criminal record check and a first aid certificate.

Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Spain – all verified instructors must carry a minimum level of qualification which must be at the ISIA card level or above. Independent instructors must also provide documentation to show they meet the local regulatory requirements to teach.
