About Meribel
Founded in the 1930s, Meribel is one of the most popular resorts in France.Meribel FAQs
What is the skiing like in Meribel for beginners?
Meribel is a great resort for first-time skiers, with two dedicated beginner areas (Meribel Mottaret and the Altiport) along with plenty of green and blue runs to progress onto and build confidence. From the top of the Tougnette 1 gondola you can ski through Mottaret all the way back to Meribel centre on two gentle green runs - follow signs for ‘Perdrix’ and ‘Truite’.
What is the skiing like in Meribel for intermediate?
Meribel has a fantastic range of intermediate slopes and all areas of the resort can be accessed by relative novices. Explore stunning tree lined pistes such as Pic Blue which guides you down to Meribel Village or adventure over to nearby Courchevel to unlock even more incredible terrain.
What is the skiing like in Meribel for experts?
Whilst not the most challenging resort in the 3 Valleys, Meribel still has plenty of exhilarating options for expert skiers. Head to the top of the Mont Vallon cable car where you will find two long, steep and technical red runs and with a drop of over 1000m they will certainly test your legs!
When is the best time to ski in Meribel?
Meribel is open from early December till late April and with its extensive snow making capabilities you can be confident of great conditions all season long. For warmer sunnier weather, March/April can be a great time to visit Meribel but we would recommend skiing on the south facing slopes early on, as they will soften throughout the day.
