13 March, 2024 5 Min. gelesen

Ski lessons are a worthwhile investment if you are going on a ski holiday. Whether it’s your first time on the slopes or you are hoping to improve your technique, booking a ski instructor is a great way to get the most out of your ski trip. Ski lessons enable you to safely build confidence and advance your skiing as efficiently as possible.

How much skiing lessons cost in Europe can vary considerably, and when looking at how expensive ski lessons are, there are a few variables to consider, which include:

  • What country are you booking ski lessons in?
  • Are you booking private ski lessons or group ski lessons?
  • How many ski lessons are you booking?
  • What time of day are your ski lessons?
  • Are you booking ski lessons in a peak period?
  • Are you booking ski lessons for children or for adults?

We break down these factors below.

How Much Does a Group Ski Lesson Cost?

group ski lesson

Ski School group ski lessons tend to be cheaper than private ski lessons as you receive less one-on-one time with the instructor due to their attention being divided between everyone in the group. Therefore, booking group ski lessons with a smaller group size will offer you better value for money. This is why group ski lessons are limited to 6 people per group on Maison Sport.

Group ski lessons on Maison Sport are priced in line with the market, so they may fluctuate slightly depending on market changes. Group ski lesson prices vary depending on the resort but typically start from €225.00 for five days of two-hour lessons for adults and from €350.00 for five days of three-hour lessons for children.

How Much Does a Private Ski Lesson Cost?

Private ski lessons are typically more expensive than group ski lessons as they provide a tailored service with 100% of the instructor’s time devoted to you. This can mean quicker progression thanks to more personalised feedback. Private ski lessons are also more flexible than group ski lessons in terms of lesson times and meeting points.

Private ski lessons typically cost between €55 – €110 per hour depending on the instructor’s qualification and experience as well as the resort in which they are working and the time of day. Morning lessons are typically more expensive than afternoon lessons, with afternoon ski lessons being up to 25% cheaper than morning lessons. Full-day ski lessons cost the most per day, however, they can offer the best value for money per hour.

Ski schools will also often become less flexible in peak periods and may require you to book for a minimum number of days (or a full week).
