Alpe d'Huez ski resort is in the southern French Alps and is a popular resort that offers over 250 km of ski runs to visiting skiers and snowboarders. The Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski area is divided into several interconnected sectors, including Alpe d’Huez Centre, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany, Villard-Reculas, and La Garde, all of which are accessible from the town centre. The ski area boasts 135 runs, comprising 41 green, 34 blue, 40 red, and 20 black pistes, offering a total of 250 kilometres of slopes for all skill levels.

Alpe d’Huez, with its extensive and varied terrain, is surprisingly well-suited for beginner skiers. The resort features a wide range of gentle nursery slopes and spacious runs, making it an ideal choice for those new to skiing or snowboarding. This qualification also includes numerous teaching and technical performance diplomas in skiing or snowboarding, European mountain safety courses and the Euro speed test. The instructors are also required to have a criminal record check and a first aid certificate.

Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Spain – all verified instructors must carry a minimum level of qualification which must be at the ISIA card level or above. Independent instructors must also provide documentation to show they meet the local regulatory requirements to teach.
