What is the skiing like in Courmayeur for beginners?
Courmayeur has several gentle nursery slopes up the mountain at Plan Chécrouit and Pre de Pascal, however, with no green runs and only a handful of blue runs, the progression from the nursery slopes can be difficult.
What is the skiing like in Courmayeur for intermediate?
Courmayeur is perfect for intermediates with a mix of gentle tree runs above Val Veny and expansive red runs higher up that offer panoramic views of Mont Blanc. If you run out of pistes in Courmayeur you can also venture over to La Thuile (25 mins by bus) which has more pistes and links to other resorts such as La Rosiere.

Expert skiers will find plenty of steeper and more challenging runs in Courmayeur and can take advantage of the excellent off piste, although a guide is highly recommended. Vallée Blanche is a famous 24km long off-piste descent that finishes in Chamonix and is suitable for all abilities. For the expert skiers, crossing the Toula Glacier is a truly exceptional descent in breathtaking terrain.

Courmayeur is open from the end of November until the 1st April and has reliable snow cover all season long. Courmayeur can be busy during the school holidays, particularly if Chamonix is short on snow as many people will make the short journey through the tunnel to ski in Italy.
