The village is around 1.5hrs drive from Geneva Airport and is well connected by train and bus, allowing easy access to Chamonix town and its many attractions. This makes Argentière a great choice for a weekend ski trip while enjoying a quieter and more traditional village atmosphere.
Argentière is best known for the famous Grands Montets ski area, one of the most iconic areas in the Chamonix Valley. It is particularly well suited to advanced skiers, freeriders and ski tourers, while still offering beginner pistes and facilities such as snowmaking and the Lognan Snow Park.
While skiing is the main attraction, Argentière also offers a variety of winter activities beyond the slopes. Visitors can enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing or traditional paret sledding, all set among stunning scenery between the Mer de Glace and the Argentière Glacier. For a change of pace, the village itself features a beautiful baroque church, a historic nineteenth century chapel and a selection of bakeries and cafés perfect for relaxed afternoons.
With its rugged mountain character, spectacular views of the Mont Blanc massif and excellent snow reliability thanks to its high altitude and glacier access, Argentière delivers a perfect balance of challenging skiing, natural beauty and authentic Alpine life.
